After twelve years of faithful service, my old telescopic loppers finally succumbed when I attempted to cut a branch beyond their capabilities. The extendable arms allowed for significant force, proving too much for the aging blade. This Gardena 680A lopper, however, appears to be a well-designed and durable replacement. I appreciate the blade design that prevents branches larger than the recommended 40mm diameter from fitting, eliminating the risk of overstressing the tool. Despite its robust construction, it feels surprisingly light to use, even for someone like me at 70 years old. I have no doubt about its strength and dont foresee bending the arms. So far, it cuts effortlessly and cleanly. While the advertised 25-year warranty seems almost too good to be true, its a testament to the manufacturers confidence and provides peace of mind. If youre searching for a reliable non-telescopic lopper, I recommend saving yourself time and choosing this one
