Its amazing that I dont have to manually wrap the hose around them by hand to reel it back in. The product looks great and is easy to install on brick siding. I originally bought a hose reel for my dad to use with his greenhouse because he was constantly tripping over his rolled-up hoses on the ground. While the installation isnt particularly difficult, the unit is heavy and needs to be securely mounted to a post in the ground, ideally a 4×4 post with a 2×6 board attached to it for optimal installation and functionality (this is the method we used). This does require some work, but it was entirely worth it once it was properly installed. My dad has been delighted with this hose reel and has raved about it every time hes working in the garden. Its been two years now, and the reel still retracts the hose quickly and efficiently without any issues. The overall appearance is much cleaner and more organized than having hoses scattered across the ground. The hose itself appears to be durable, and there have been no problems with cracks or leaks. However, if you live in a cold climate, its essential to blow the water out of the hose in the fall to ensure its longevity. I was so impressed with the performance of this hose reel that I decided to purchase a second one for my own yard, and Ive been equally satisfied with it so far. I anticipate buying more of these hose reels in the future

This automatic retracting hose reel surpasses the quality of my three other high-quality hose reels. While German-engineered Gardena products come at a premium, the investment is worthwhile. The design and precision engineering are evident in this robust reel, capable of handling a 115-foot hose. Be mindful of its weight, especially before securely attaching it to its wall-mounted swivel base. Once mounted, it operates smoothly and effortlessly. A convenient feature is the automatic locking mechanism that activates whenever the hose is extended and pulling stops. Retracting the hose is equally effortless; a simple tug initiates the automatic rewind, guided by a geared system that prevents tangles and ensures perfect spooling. To keep the reel clean, I simply wrap an old towel around the hose near the reel, allowing it to collect any debris during retraction. The Gardena Power Grip connector, while perhaps unfamiliar to some, provides a secure connection by simply slipping it over the hose and tightening it by hand. Should it ever loosen, simply re-tighten it. The lead-in hose can also be shortened by cutting it to the desired length and reattaching the Power Grip connector
