This replaced a reel twice the size and much less attractive. The quick-connect connectors are fantastic! I purchased additional metal connectors online – excellent German engineering!

We are happy with this purchase so far. My wife especially appreciates its lightweight and compact design, which is perfect for watering her numerous large flower pots and bedding plants in the front yard. The reels portability makes it easy to bring indoors during bad weather. Our only complaint, though not significant enough to warrant removing a star, is the cranks design. Its not ambidextrous, and the handle ends up facing the house when the hose is extended. This means the handle must be folded in for storage. Since the handle and its locking mechanism are plastic, I worry about its long-term durability

However, I recently discovered that there were some problems with its operation when my husband was using it in the past. I really like the Gardena hose! Just make sure that the tap is still on so that you can easily reel it back in without getting kinked. After youve reel it back in, you can also drain out some of the water to help conserve it.
