While the installation is straightforward, the reel is heavy and requires secure mounting to a sturdy post, preferably a 4×4 with a 2×6 attached for optimal stability and performance. Although somewhat labor-intensive, the installation proved worthwhile. My father is extremely pleased with the hose reel and consistently praises its functionality. I have several high-quality hose reels on both sides of my house, but this one stands out. I appreciate spending the extra money on Gardena German-engineered products because they are known for being reasonably priced. This is an impressive hose reel, with a well-designed, precise build and automatic retracting capabilities. However, it is important to note that this 115-foot-long hose and reel is quite heavy, so it may require additional support when attaching it to the wall-mounted swivel base. To retract the hose, simply give it a gentle tug, and it will wind up perfectly, never getting caught or tangled in the reels geared guide. The hose also needs to be cleaned regularly to prevent growth of grass clippings and debris. One solution is to use an old towel to gently wrap the hose near the reel and then automate the reels retraction process by allowing the hose to air-dry naturally.

The hose reel is an exceptional product. I can easily pull out as much hose as I require, likely up to 50 feet or more, and when Im finished, a gentle tug is all it takes for the hose to automatically wind itself back up. This makes the hose incredibly easy to use. I wish I had acquired this hose reel years ago
