What a brilliant device! I have needed it for years, but I didnt know such a thing existed. I often have to clean up after my dogs on my patio. While I have an outdoor faucet spigot, Ive always encountered the issue of having to turn off the water when switching from the deck wash bottle (connected to the hose for soaping the patio) to the power nozzle for rinsing it clean. This item stops the water flow, allowing you to readily switch from one garden hose attachment to the other without having to turn off the water. It comes with a single adapter, but you can purchase additional adapters (for a few dollars at Osh or Home Depot) to use with other bottles or nozzles. While similar products may exist, this one is of great quality. Highly recommended

Im very impressed with this Gardena quick connect with shut-off valve. It performs flawlessly, with no leaks after disconnection. A major plus is its compatibility with my existing brass male quick connect fittings (see video for an example). While pricier than my previous Asian-made fittings, the quality and performance of this German-engineered product are well worth the investment

The metal version may be more expensive than the plastic counterpart, but it is significantly more durable. I previously owned the plastic version, which lasted a couple of seasons, but I neglected to ensure it was properly winterized. The temperature in the southeastern United States dropped low enough that the plastic unit ultimately cracked. I wish I had invested in the metal version from the start, but aside from the need to replace the o-rings, this metal unit should serve me well for an extended period.
